The Hunter Valley is gaining ground as a fantastic place for healing relaxation with high-end destinations such as Golden Door offering a wonderful day spa getaway.

Co-founder of the World Spiritual University, Adam Frontier, recently visited the Hunter Valley and expressed an interest in finding some accommodation-style campus space to begin running some of their courses.

“We’re pretty much looking for a campus space either in the hinterland behind Byron Bay, or somewhere a bit more convenient to Sydney which makes the Hunter Valley very attractive,” he said.

SharePoint Sydney

Technology is constantly evolving and creating new ways of making our lives easier. It invents new manners to keep us connected, sharing moments, interests and opinions. Social media, for instance, puts you one click away from telling all your friends and acquaintances everything about you: places you’ve been, songs you like, friends you share with others and pictures that represent who you are. And that might be the reason why Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc, are so popular. It’s easy to use and to connect with whom you want to.

But then it’s time to go to work and you feel like you went back in time. Never ending structures, mandatory authorizations from different sectors and levels for almost every task you have to do and hundreds of emails in your mailbox every day, which reflects a great difficulty of communicating with co-workers and sharing and updating files. These cause people to spend most of their time undertaking trivial time-consuming activities that prevent them from getting the real work done. And the best thing is you don’t have to be a developer to be able to use it.

SharePoint development is a collaboration software designed by Microsoft that helps, sharing, updating and archiving company files, managing projects, costs and risks and connecting people. More effectively used in organizations with more than 30 employees, it allows users to work together and share and update documents online without having to store several different versions. They can even work on the same document simultaneously as well as upload files straight from Microsoft Office.

Archiving files is simple and if done correctly employees will be able to find files with hardly any effort. Users can choose to file documents under a folder or use tags to organize under themes. They can use multiple values, which mean it’s possible to use more than one tag to identify files in SharePoint 2013, something that could not be done in previous versions.

But with all those features companies might perceive as undesirable providing their employees unlimited access to all files, which could not be the best scenario if there are confidential, documents that cannot be seen by everyone. And that’s why it allows you to choose who has permission to see and modify documents. It’s possible to select certain members, areas or even groups of people working on a project together. The system is user-friendly software that will improve efficiency in your workplace if it’s correctly developed and customised to satisfy your company needs.

New Anti-Ageing Clinic in Sydney

The Hunter Valley is not so much a retirement region that it’s called “God’s Waiting Room” like Port Macquarie is. Nevertheless it’s good to know that a new clinic just opened in Chatswood is not much more than an hour down the highway when you want a bit of rejuvenation. CATHERINE BLUM reports …

Doctors are always mentioning how important it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle to live a better, longer life. Eating well and exercising your body and mind are the most basic – yet essential – recommendations they give to their patients. But we often get caught up in our busy lives, working, taking care of our families and worrying about a million other things that sometimes we forget to take good care of our health. And it’s only when we notice some changes or problems that we decide to take a closer look to what’s going on in our bodies.
Besides, it’s not only general health people should be conscious of. Sexual and reproductive health is also a great deal of concern in people’s lives, either because there is something to worry about or because they want to safely prevent or start a new family. And that is what Clinic 66 (previously known as Gynaecare) does: it provides quality treatment so people will have one less thing to be troubled about.
Clinic 66 is a private sexual and reproductive health centre located in Chatswood that offers services for women and men without them necessarily needing a referral. The centre has several experienced and competent doctors who have seen and are able to deal with all sorts of situations. Regarding women’s health they offer services in gynaecology, treating menopause and menstrual problems, pap tests, and also anti-ageing treatments. Regarding men’s health, services include erectile dysfunction treatments, vasectomy, STD/STI screenings, as well as anti-ageing treatments.
The clinic also offers services in family planning and sexual health for both men and women. Family planning involves dealing with quite a few topics, including unplanned pregnancies, counselling on contraception methods (temporary or permanent), birth control and fertility and infertility treatments. Sexual health comprises services in identifying and treating Chlamydia, STI/STD screenings, HPV and Hepatitis B counselling and immunisation and Herpes screening.
So regardless of age, gender or sexual preferences, the importance of doing regular checkups and being aware of your body can’t be stressed enough, as this can help discovering diseases at an early stage, improving the chances of longevity.

Furniture Stores in Sydney

Being based in the Hunter Valley, furniture store options can be quite thin on the ground so the simple fact is – when shopping for furniture we go into the big smoke as delivery to the Hunter Valley, while a bit expensive, is essential when we’re seeking that must-have exclusive item.

Recently we were shopping around to fit out a new premises and this is what we purchased:

Dining Table – we picked it up from Habitat Furniture in Hurlstone Park on the outer edge of Sydney’s inner west. Owners Poppy and Con pride themselves on offering only Australian-made furniture at affordable prices – knowing our eight-seater dining table was locally made in Sydney thereby supporting Australian craftspeople and their families, plus was less expensive than many upmarket imports, felt very good indeed. Habitat Furniture, 36-38 Canterbury Rd, Hurlstone Park, cnr Crinan St. Ph (02) 9558 4811.

Lounge Suite – being a new premises we decided to go with the Jasper lounge suite from King Furniture in Annandale – consultant Irene Lujan was very helpful explaining the different configurations we could have – in fact she was outright patient! Hand-crafted furniture at the cutting edge of modern furniture design is what King Furniture specialise in and their fabrics and leather reflect the latest trends and the best of tradition – their Jasper suite has set off the lounge brilliantly giving it a contemporary feel. King Furniture, 61 Parramatta Rd, Annandale. Ph (02) 9516 5466.

Bookshelf – in the end there was a bookshelf we simply had to have as it reflected luxury and sophistication from every angle. It was from Milano Furniture in Ashfield, Sydney. For such an intimidating venue, director Maria Tezel was very relaxed and welcoming. The ‘Set System’ by designer Pinuccio Borgonovo can also be used as a room divider which was perfect for us, while still allowing the TV, the element which strongly features in any lounge room, to be perfectly useable by both sides of the composition – in fact we have a remote that causes the TV to silently slide from one room to another. Milano Sydney, 140 Parramatta Rd, Ashfield. Ph (02) 9799 5499.

Entertainment Unit – For a long time we considered a sleek entertainment unit from SydneySider Media Furniture in Stanmore. Yes our research truly was two days purely in the inner west of Sydney! Handmade in Sydney and shown to us by George Karatzis, we loved the elegance and futuristic tone of SydneySider’s items. Square edge panels, subtle semantics and proportionate symmetry are just part of the aesthetic cues that inspired us. 22-28 Parramatta Rd, Stanmore. Ph (02) 9557 8713.

Two Day Jenolan Caves Tour

There’s more at Jenolan Caves than can possibly be appreciated on a day tour, and this two day trip allows for an extended visit. As well as visiting a wildlife park and completing at least one guided cave tour, visitors can complete the self guided tour of the Devil’s Coachhouse and area, explore the scenery around the caves or buy more guided caves tours.

Spend the night in historic Caves  House and take a morning stroll around the area. Then visitors spend the rest of the second day enjoying Blue Mountains attractions including an optional horse ride.

Two Day Happy Farm Tour

Designed especially for visitors from China this tour is accompanied by a Mandarin guide as well as a local guide. It starts with a visit to a wildlife park the meet the koalas and kangaroos and visits the beautiful Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens in the Blue Mountains.  Continuing over the Mountains to Bathurst a traditional mixed farm is the night’s accommodation and entertainment.

Barcoo’s Barn in Bathurst has sheep, cattle, chickens, dogs, horses and everything you expect on a farm!  In the morning visitors can collect the eggs, maybe feed the lambs before heading back to the Blue Mountains to explore the attractions.

Blue Mountains Day Tours

Spend the day on a personalised guided discovery of the Blue Mountains and all it has to offer.  Tours can include any parts of the Blue Mountains that visitors choose, but favourites include visiting a wildlife park, riding the world’s steepest railway into the Jamison Valley at Scenic World and discovering Aboriginal dance, music and culture at the Waradah Centre.

The opportunity for appreciating natural scenic wonders is unlimited in the Blue Mountains, there are many lookouts, waterfalls and iconic rock formations in the valleys which are outstanding and world renowned. Visitors can choose to go horse riding or bush walking in this natural beauty.

Q. What’s the best way to get to the Blue Mountains from the Hunter Valley?

The stumbling block is the Wollemi National Park, which sits like a giant green slime between the two regions. From Singleton take the (very pretty) Putty Road which skirts the world heritage Wollemi National Park to Windsor which is at the doorstep of the Blue Mountains.

Rubbish Removal Sydney

doylebrosEvery household and office generates a great amount of rubbish daily which can be very unsafe for people and family triggering diseases, add to that the dangers it causes to our habitat. Waste management is a process that is generally undertaken to diminish the effect of wastes on health and the environment. Of course clearing waste is not that easy, but the good thing is there are professional removal and disposal services that will do just that for us!

In Sydney, there are rubbish removal businesses that offer services as required by local laws. But with several companies emerging and offering this kind of services, finding the best one to trust can be difficult. Make sure you find out more about a company before getting their services.

One of the more relevant issues is to know where a company takes your junk and what they do to it. A good service provider knows how to dispose of wastes correctly by segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable, and then transporting it to the proper channels.

When it comes to environment protection, proper recycling of waste material is essential. Recycling is a very important aspect to consider and involves conscientious support from rubbish removal companies. A good company will offer recycling services after collection and help in its reuse; and know how to sort, separate and process junk into reusable resources.

Experience is also important. For a good outcome, look for an experienced company that has the proper tools and equipments needed for collection of materials and have experienced staff that know what they are doing.

One name to trust in this trade is the Doyles Bros. Doyle Bros is an Australian, family-owned and operated company with over 20 years experience providing Sydney with cost-effective waste management and recycling solutions in both the commercial and industrial spheres.

Nowadays, rubbish removal companies have a significant role in saving us and the environment from negative effects caused by growing junk. Some have perfected the art of rubbish removal, helping us go on with our busy lives and not worry about how to dispose our wastes. It’s easy, fast and effective!
